Safe in the Shepherd’s Arms

Chapters 21 and 22 of 1st Samuel give us a view of the first events of David’s life as a fugitive of King Saul. There is nothing glamorous or attractive about the circumstances that David is going through but we can see God’s hand in all of it from our vantage point. Stories like these should bring us encouragement that God is always in control and will bring ultimate good through all events to his people.
