Bread From Heaven - Down To Earth: John 1-6

You need to know where you’re going in order to get there. The crowds were looking for Jesus, but somehow lost track of him. Upon finding them again, their motives are quickly revealed by Jesus: they simply got hungry again and wanted him to feed them. Was this what Jesus intended? Did Jesus simply want us to come to him to fill our bellies? No way. Jesus repeatedly declares that he came to give life everlasting to those who receive him and believe in his name. And those that eat of this bread get the true bread from heaven. Next week: John 6:60-71
